Summary- This book is about a very old poor couple who has hardly anything in life. All their children are grown and they share a patched up old jacket, one bed sheet that is extremely ragged, one chair to sit it, one candle (no electricity) to last them all winter, one gold coin and one potato a day for the two of them and is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This couple was extremely simple and never asked for much, they were proud of what they had although they need much more they never complained. One day as the husband was digging up the very last potato he struck something hard in the garden, he continued digging to see just what this was in his garden.
How I would use this in class- This book demonstrates a lot of great qualities. It talks about how you don’t have to have all the new materialistic things in the world to be happy. It
