Summary: A group of cows on a farm get a hold of Farmer Brown's typewriter, and begin to leave the farmer notes about how the barn is too cold, and they would like some electric blankets. The Farmer says no, so the cows decide not to produce any milk. The hens decide that the want electric blankets, so they decide not to produce any eggs.
How to use in the classroom: This teaches children that issues can be solved with simple compromise, and provides humor to them, as well.

Summary- This book is about a very old poor couple who has hardly anything in life. All their children are grown and they share a patched up old jacket, one bed sheet that is extremely ragged, one chair to sit it, one candle (no electricity) to last them all winter, one gold coin and one potato a day for the two of them and is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This couple was extremely simple and never asked for much, they were proud of what they had although they need much more they never complained. One day as the husband was digging up the very last potato he struck something hard in the garden, he continued digging to see just what this was in his garden.
How I would use this in class- This book demonstrates a lot of great qualities. It talks about how you don’t have to have all the new materialistic things in the world to be happy. It

How I would use this in class- I would just use it for imagination and for fun whenever the Fall season starts.

Upon hearing this, Corduroy decides to search the store in hopes of finding the button. That night, he encounters many new sights, including the store's escalator and furniture department. After Corduroy's failed attempt to remove a sewn-on button atop a mattress, the store's security guard finds him and places him back on his original shelf. The next day, Corduroy awakes to find himself greeted by the smiling face of the girl from the previous day. She buys Corduroy and takes him home where she then replaces his lost button. As Corduroy looks at his new surroundings, he rejoices in the realization that he now has a home and a loving friend to take care of him.
